Who Provides the Chat

[Practice name] provides this chat to its clients and is the business responsible for it. AskAboutTax, a service of KiwiBooks Inc., runs the chat as [Practice name]'s service provider.

What the Chat Is and Is Not

• An AI assistant, not [Practice name] or anyone who works there
• General tax, business, and practice support information, not tax advice, and not a conclusion about your own situation
• It does not prepare or file tax returns, and it never calculates your own tax
• Don't act on anything in the chat before you talk with [Practice name] or another qualified tax professional

Signing In

Only email addresses on [Practice name]'s client list can sign in. Each sign-in needs a 6-digit code sent to your email, and you must acknowledge the disclaimers before the chat opens. Keep your email account secure, and don't share your codes.

What Not to Share

Don't share personal tax information, such as your Social Security number, ITIN, income, account numbers, passwords, or details from your tax return. The chat blocks Social Security numbers, ITINs, and account numbers before a message is sent.

Sharing Files with Your Practice

Use your authenticated private file area to share images and documents with [Practice name], up to 50 MB each. Your practice and its authorized staff can review them after format and security checks. They are not automatically sent to AI, read with OCR, or added to assistant knowledge.

Downloads are private attachments. You and your practice can download or delete files; new uploads pause when shared practice storage is full. Do not share files you are not authorized to provide.

Shared files follow the practice’s client retention period and are removed with client or account erasure. The practice receives the applicable retention notice before automatic client deletion.

AI-Generated Answers

Answers are generated by AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI, which run on Amazon Bedrock, a service of Amazon Web Services (AWS), within [Practice name]'s rules and sources. AI can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Every answer ends with a reminder to verify it with [Practice name]. [Practice name] receives a summary of your session and decides how to follow up.

To the extent the law allows, the chat is provided as is, and neither AskAboutTax nor its providers are responsible for decisions you make based on AI-generated answers.

Acceptable Use

• Use the chat only for your own questions to the practice
• Don't try to get around its safeguards, sign in as someone else, or disrupt it
• Don't use automated tools to send messages

The chat may stop when your monthly limit or [Practice name]'s plan limit is reached. The options to contact [Practice name] stay available.

Retention and Deletion

Your sessions are kept for 3 years after your most recent chat or successful file sharing unless [Practice name] sets a different period, and [Practice name] can delete them at any time. See the client privacy notice for details.
